Atomic is a personal knowledge base where you write short notes, called atoms, and the app organizes them. Notes are tagged automatically and embedded for semantic search, a canvas shows related ideas drifting together, any tag can be turned into a wiki article with citations back to the source notes, and a chat mode answers questions from your notes. It connects to Claude or Cursor over MCP and has a browser extension, an iOS app and a REST API. You can run it as a Mac desktop app or self-host the server for free, since the code is MIT open source. Atomic Cloud is the hosted version with AI included: its free plan holds 250 atoms and one knowledge base, and Pro is $12 a month with unlimited atoms and 10 GB of storage.
