Rules and terms
How CodeDebut works
The short version of the rules every maker and advertiser agrees to.
Launches
Every product is checked by hand before it goes live. A launch day runs from 00:00 to 23:59 UTC, and the list is ranked by upvotes from GitHub accounts older than 30 days. The #1 launch of each day becomes Debut of the Day. One launch per product every 6 months. Descriptions must be honest. Buying, trading or automating upvotes gets a product removed.
Paid placements
Featured, Launch Day Boost, Premium Profiles and all ads are labelled for readers as Featured, Boosted, Promoted or Sponsored. Payment never changes a rank. Ad links carry rel="sponsored".
Links
Every product page links to the product's website. The link is followed while the CodeDebut badge on that website links back to the product page (we check daily), or while the product has a Premium Profile. Otherwise it is nofollow.
