What CodeDebut collects, why, and how to have it removed.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google or GitHub, or with a link sent to your work email: your name, email address, profile picture and account ID from that service. For GitHub sign-ins we also read the account's creation date, to stop new accounts being used to game upvotes. What you do here: the products you submit, claim or edit, your upvotes and comments, and orders you place. If you subscribe to CodeDebut Weekly: your email address. For product owners: daily counts of page views and clicks to their website. These are totals per product; we don't record who viewed a page.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in, and two short-lived ones protect the sign-in step. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Sponsors on the site are shown to everyone the same way; they get no data about you.

How we use it

To run your account, rank launches by upvotes, send the emails you ask for (sign-in links, claim links, badge warnings, the newsletter) and handle payments. Email is sent from our own mail server. Payments are handled by our payment provider, which receives what it needs to process your order; we never see your card details.

Your choices

Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. To see, correct or delete your data, or close your account, write to hello@codedebut.com from the address on your account and we'll handle it within 30 days. Product pages are public; the owner can edit them, and you can ask us to take one down.
