CopyLasso is a macOS utility for grabbing text you can see but cannot select, such as text in scanned PDFs, screenshots, paused videos, photos, menus or remote desktop windows. You draw around the area, the app reads it with Apple's on-device Vision framework, and the text lands on your clipboard. It can also read QR codes and barcodes, and you can choose and order the OCR languages available on your Mac. There is no account, cloud OCR, analytics or telemetry. Screenshots are not stored, and an optional capture history is off by default and encrypted locally when turned on. CopyLasso is free and MIT-licensed, for macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
