About Ledge
Ledge is a Markdown notebook for developers and DevOps engineers who keep commands in their notes. Shell, code, SQL and AI prompt blocks run inside the note with their output shown underneath, and each note keeps its own persistent shell session. A host line in a note's frontmatter runs its blocks on a remote machine over SSH, and notes can be stored on a server you run and reached over SSH. Locked notes are encrypted behind a passphrase and kept away from agents and search. There are apps for Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android (beta), plus a CLI and an MCP server, and the code is Apache-2.0 licensed.
