Pulse Local is a budgeting app for Macs with Apple Silicon, currently in beta, that keeps your ledger on your own computer and answers questions about your spending with AI models that also run locally. It covers budgets and targets, categorization rules, splits, cash flow and a forecast. The models are downloaded once on first start, about 830 MB in total, and after that the app sends nothing about you except an optional update check. Local mode needs no account. The app is free with every feature, and you can optionally pay what you like to support it. Live bank sync for US banks runs through Plaid in a separate Connected mode and is sold as a yearly Sync Pass: $29 for three banks plus $8 for each extra one. A Windows version is listed as coming next.
