About Set
Set is a notes app with a block editor in the style of Notion, but every page is a Markdown file kept on your own devices. It supports to-dos, tables, subpages, toggles and movable blocks, and it syncs directly between your computers with no account or cloud service in between. It also has on-device dictation in 15 languages, custom colors, fonts and themes, and optional, configurable access for AI agents to read your notes. Set is built for one writer, and collaborative editing is not planned. It is free and open source, still in beta, with downloads for macOS, Windows and Linux and a version you can try in the browser; phone apps are listed as coming soon.
