About Copperhead
Copperhead is an AI agent for printed circuit board design that works on real KiCad schematic and board files. You describe a change, such as adding a USB-C power input, and it validates a proposal, edits the files in your git repo, then runs electrical and design rule checks (ERC and DRC) until they pass, logging each decision and changelog entry as it goes. The CLI installs from npm, is Apache-2.0 licensed and free, and runs locally with your own Claude or GPT-5 key. The Cloud plan, $49 per user per month and free for open hardware repos, adds hosted runs on private repos, a web viewer and one-click Gerber, STEP and BOM exports. Team and Enterprise tiers add CI checks, SSO and self-hosting.
