Instabooks mirrors a QuickBooks Online company into a fast web app for bookkeepers and business owners. The general ledger opens accounts with more than 100,000 lines without pagination, transactions can be batch-edited in one pass, client files switch instantly, and changes sync both ways with QuickBooks, which stays the source of truth. Its Database Access feature exposes the books as read-only PostgreSQL tables, so you can query transactions, accounts, customers and vendors from psql, a GUI client, Excel over ODBC or a notebook. After a 3-day free trial with no card, it costs $15 a month for one company, with the price per company dropping to $10 and then $5 for firms with more clients. It is built by Lightweight Labs.
