Line9 is a rendering engine for Mermaid diagrams that uses its own layout instead of Mermaid's default one. It places nodes to shorten arrows and cut down on line crossings, aims for an aspect ratio that fits on a page while keeping text readable, and uses typography-focused themes. You keep writing standard Mermaid source and export the result as SVG or PNG; flowcharts get the full layout engine today. There is a web viewer, a CLI for macOS, Linux and Windows that renders on your own machine, and an MCP server so AI assistants can render diagrams in chat. The free plan covers the viewer, the MCP and a personal-use CLI with a small watermark. Pro is $24 per seat a month, or $240 a year, for commercial use, watermark-free exports and published share links.
