MimicScribe is a macOS menu-bar notetaker that records system audio and your microphone directly, so no bot joins the call. Transcription, speaker separation and saved voice profiles run on your Mac, and it detects 25 languages. A keyboard shortcut brings it up during a meeting for live action items and summaries, and it also offers voice typing and search across past meetings. The free tier covers recording, transcription and speaker labels, plus cloud AI summaries for the first 30 meetings and then five a week. Pro is a one-time $75 that adds an MCP server for AI agents, automatic Markdown export and support for any OpenAI-compatible model endpoint. Optional Cloud AI costs $10 a month or $84 a year. It needs macOS 15 on Apple Silicon.
