About Trace
Trace is a menu-bar app for Apple Silicon Macs that records your microphone and system audio, plus optional screenshots, and transcribes meetings locally. You get a markdown transcript and summary with the moments you flagged during the call shown inline, and files can be saved to a folder or sent to apps such as Obsidian, Bear and Drafts. The default model handles 99 languages and can translate a meeting, and a tracecli command lets the terminal or AI agents list, summarise and follow recordings. No bot joins the call and nothing is uploaded. Bought direct, Trace is a lifetime licence from £29 for one Mac or £39 for two, with a 7-day free trial; it is also sold on the Mac App Store.
