aclif is a framework for building command-line tools that AI agents use to work with SaaS platforms such as Salesforce and ServiceNow. Every provider shares the same command grammar, JSON output envelope and error vocabulary, and canonical names refer to the same kind of record on any platform. Commands describe themselves, so an agent can list providers and read a command's schema, examples and safety metadata, or do a dry run, only when it needs that command. The aim is to keep a large API reachable without loading a long MCP tool list into the agent's context on every turn. New commands can be added with a JSON manifest over an HTTP endpoint, and the runtime can be embedded in other tools. aclif is MIT licensed and installs from npm.
