Petal is a screen sharing and remote control app for small engineering teams that pair, review code or debug together. Instead of showing shared windows as tiles inside a call, each shared window opens on the other person's desktop as its own native window that can be moved and resized. Several people can share at the same time, see labeled cursors, and type or click into each other's windows. Rooms are persistent, so joining a regular sync is one click. It is built by former members of the CoScreen team and released under the Apache 2.0 license. The desktop app is free for macOS and Windows, with Linux listed as next. You can use the hosted Petal Cloud video backend or point the app at your own LiveKit server with a docker-compose setup.
