Rust web framework rendering one component to many targets
Proa is a Rust web framework for server-rendered web apps. A single typed component can render to more than one target, for example HTML for browsers and Markdown for agents. Templates are compiled during the build, pages stream from the server, and interactive islands are written in Rust with RSJS and compiled to JavaScript, with React interop when an existing component has to stay. It can be adopted one route at a time next to an existing Next.js or Rails app, used natively with Axum, or called over FFI from Node, Go, Python, Ruby or Java. Output escaping, cross-origin protection and security headers are built in, and accessibility checks run at compile time. Its documentation is also served as Markdown, a JSON API and an MCP server. Proa is open source under Apache 2.0.
