shuru runs AI agents and untrusted commands inside lightweight Linux virtual machines on your own computer. On macOS it uses Apple's Virtualization framework, with experimental KVM support on Linux ARM64, so Docker is not required. Each run starts from a clean root filesystem and is discarded afterwards unless you save it as a named checkpoint that you can restore or branch from. Sandboxes have no network access unless you pass a flag, host folders are mounted read-only by default, and you can set CPU, memory and disk per run, forward ports and build checkpoints from recipes, including one that runs Docker inside the VM. It is a free, Apache-2.0 licensed CLI.
